Visit Southgate at IntraLogisteX 2021

We are excited to announce that we will be attending IntraLogisteX at the Ricoh Arena on 1st & 2nd July 2021.

With Covid-19 safety measures in place, this exhibition will set the precedent for all those to follow. There is a reduced capacity so make sure you register here today to make sure you don’t miss out.

Whilst the way we carry out exhibitions may now have changed; we can assure you that our strong drive on productivity and sustainability has not.

For Sustainability, Think Southgate

As part of our continued focus on product innovation we are developing a range of new eco-friendly packaging alternatives. This strengthens our ongoing, pioneering activity to lead the packaging industry in developing sustainable products.

Water activated tape, also referred to as gummed paper tape, is fast becoming the most popular form of carton sealing.  Environmentally friendly and creating a superior bond to conventional non-recyclable plastic tapes, it is a must have in the packaging communities’ race to a circular economy. Our range of dispensers and Tegrabond water activated tapes will once again be on demonstration. To read more about the benefits of using WAT visit our blog page.

One of our staple show runners, the AirWave, will also be demonstrated at the event. Our range of Pacplan Airwave air pillow systems and films give a high quality and reliable air cushion which offer a sustainable alternative to classic void fill products. We will be demonstrating our range of Airwave machines including the brand new PWN4. We will also be showcasing the UK Packaging Awards shortlisted carbon neutral air pillow as well as  the Paper Wave and Bio Film pillows.

Void fill is an invaluable commodity in the packaging sector. Whilst we should always endeavour to use the correct size box void fill can act as an added barrier to keep products safe in transit. Traditional forms of void fill include polystyrene foam peanuts and plastic bubble wrap. However, both of these products are incredibly hard to recycle and will end up in landfill taking centuries to degrade.

At Southgate we offer a range of sustainable void fill alternatives including shredders and fully recyclable Kraft paper. By utilising a cardboard shredder, you will have the capacity to re-use your cardboard waste as void fill, not only eradicating the expense of purchasing void fill materials, but additionally the expense of waste disposal.

Another form of Void Fill system, the X-Fill, will be making a return. Using patented technology this paper void fill system is 21% more productive than its nearest equivalent. It’s anti-jamming technology enables you to efficiently create large amounts of void fill with minimal disruption.

We will also be showcasing our battery powered strapping tools with the ZXT16. The patented brushes single motor design allows for long service life alongside a powerful battery for increased productivity.

Our Tenza Paper mailing bags will be making a return, including our new paper padded mailers. Made from mixed recycled and virgin paper they are our most sustainable mailer yet. Fully compostable, the Kraft paper waffle padding provides extra strength for cushioning and protecting your products. The honeycomb structure of the padding not only cushions but also gives a protective spring back, ensuring maximum protection whilst eliminating the need for plastic packaging.

Additionally we will be exhibiting a selection of our carts and trollies. Pacplan Tecknik methodology assesses the overall impact and benefits of an entire system that not only streamlines workflow but also reduce physical stress on the operator. All components are CAD designed and manufactured in Great Britain using materials that are selected for their strength and durability.
