Southgate Limited, a subsidiary company of Arpo Global Limited, would like to declare that to the best of our knowledge, we are committed to ensuring that our products and those we purchase through the supply chain have no involvement with Modern Slavery and/or child labour. Before building relationships with new suppliers we aim to make sure that their company upholds the same values as ours regarding this subject, and that they in turn will hold their own supplier equally accountable.
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. Although our company does not meet the threshold for this to be mandatory, we do carry out due diligence within our supply chain and do not consider that any products purchased or supplied are from companies or countries where there is a risk of slavery and human trafficking as outlined in sources such as the Global Slavery Index. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business dealings, as well as enforcing effective procedures to ensure that modern slavery is not undertaken in any part of our own business or supply chain.
As part of the company’s due diligence processes into slavery and human trafficking, the supplier approval process will incorporate reviews of the controls undertaken by a supplier whenever the supplier falls under the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act.
Some of our goods are imported from outside of the EU and the UK and this puts these more at risk for slavery/human trafficking-related issues. The levels of management control for these suppliers/sources are continually monitored.
Formal procedures for when modern-day slavery issues arise will be established when required and they will include disciplinary procedures where the requirements of the Act have been identified as being breached.
Rest assured, Southgate Limited offers full transparency in retrospect to these issues highlighted, and our company and our suppliers are aware of our values and will work with us and support us to continue growing an Anti-slave labour company.
